Marginal versus Segmental Mandibulectomy in the Treatment of Oral Cavity Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Abstract Introduction Oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) is the most common malignancy in oral cavity. Two types of mandibular resections have been described: segmental mandibulectomy and marginal mandibulectomy. Both may a different impact over quality life, oncological prognosis, functional or aesthetic result. Objectives The aim this study was to systematically explore literature determine survival outcomes disease control rates patients who underwent for OCSCC with histological evidence cortical medullary bone invasion.
